What is the LSS Education & Advocacy Committee?

​

The Education and Advocacy Committee functions as an advisory body to the LSS Council. It provides information and recommendations to the LSS Council on advocacy regarding the disproportionate impact of the UNB Administration’s tuition reset on the Faculty of Law.

The mandate of this committee is:

• To focus on impact of the tuition reset on the Faculty of Law with specific reference to the proposed sharing formula advanced by UNB administrators

• Request Law Faculty specific financials from the UNB administration

• Compare the tuition reset sharing model at UNB Law with other Canadian law schools

• Research the feasibility of alternate student benefits to be negotiated from the tuition reset; such as renewable scholarships and bursaries to be provided by the UNB administration

• Any other initiatives the Committee sees fit.
